One Voice Wales Annual Conference and AGM 2011

CONFERENCE
The conference theme this year is New Models of Service Delivery - Setting out a new "Local Role" for Community and Town Councils.

We are expecting an even larger exhibition again this year and I am sure there will be something of interest for all. The venue is purpose-built for conference events with excellent facilities - please see www.pafiliwnbont.co.uk  Registration will commence from 09:45am and the conference starts at 10:15am prompt. Tea/coffee and biscuits will be served on arrival and a buffet lunch will be served at 12:45pm. 

The conference will provide an opportunity to assess the future direction for Community and Town councils in Wales, with opportunities to discuss important issues such as:

* the devolution of services
* implementation of the Local Government (Wales) Measure
* the role of community and town councils in regenerating communities
* delivering new sustainable initiatives for communities and towns
* the future role of the Charters and partnership working

Mr Mike Walsh - Deputy Director of Policy & External Affairs, Big Lottery Wales
Mr Peter Davies - Sustainable Futures Commissioner

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
The AGM will commence at 2:15pm. Please note that only delegates from member councils will be admitted to the AGM and, in accordance with the constitution, only ONE vote per council will be allowed. Admission to the AGM in the AFTERNOON is free of charge however lunch is not provided for those attending the AGM only.  

The final agreed motions will be issued to councils by the beginning of September 2011 and councils must be represented at the AGM for their motion to be debated. Further conference and AGM papers, together with the admission and voting tickets, will be sent directly to the registered delegates before 30/09/11, lunch vouchers will be available on registration. Simultaneous translation from Welsh into English will be provided and there is free parking for 300 cars.
